Emokit – Assisting Affect Communication Between Couples

Effective and instant affect communication is vital for relationships. Yet, couples often struggle to find a convenient communication channel during work hours, as texting becomes challenging. To address this, we introduced Emokits —- a pair of tangible user interfaces (TUIs) tailored for emotional communication between couples. As depicted in the figure below, a user can place an object on their Emokit to signify their emotion, which will then be mirrored on their partner’s Emokit, providing an engaging and straightforward communication method.
